Body Mind Series
-
Are you Exhausted
from Pain and feel you may even be
becoming depressed or
are depressed?
-
Does it feel like no
one has any answers?
Have you tried
everything and nothing really works?
You can take control of your life,
create fulfillment and joy
and become
pain free!
Isn’t it true that when
you are in pain, (your back is aching,
your neck won’t stop spasming, that
radiating ache in your buttocks/leg or
arm is constant) what ever the body
pain… that it is exhausting?
Have you felt it takes so
much more effort to get through your
day, to do the simple activities of
living, and that the pain is like a
big energy drain.
Have you ever noticed
that when you are hurting, you have less
patience for your family, friends and
colleagues? You may have even been short
with the people you care about which
often makes you actually feel even worse
(if that is possible).
The physical pain seems
to have zapped you of your motivation,
robbed you of your happiness and
basically affected all the parts of your
life. And if it that wasn’t bad enough
now sleep often becomes an issue!
Have you ever experienced
'brain fog' on account of chronic pain,
where it seems you can not focus,
concentrate or remember things?
Has your pain seemed to
move from area to area?
Has there been a change
or problem with bowel or bladder?
Does your immune system
seem not to be up to par?
Do you worry there is
something they are missing?
Are you tired of not
being able to do simple physical tasks
or do what you love because you will pay
for it later?
If you answered yes to some of the
above or feel like you are reading
your autobiography, then you have
already experienced first hand that
the body affects the mind. In fact, it
has been shown that chronic pain
alters serotonin levels and other neuro-transmitters responsible for
your endocrine / hormonal balance
impacting your mental state and
capacity.
To make matters worse, the doctors
tests show nothing ‘significant’ and
it may have been implied that it is
all in your head. Well, IT IS NOT in
your head. You are NOT making it up,
you are NOT crazy and you are NOT a
wimp! And though the body mind
connection is very real
physiologically, it can be used to
help you as opposed to just add to the
problem.
As a manual physical therapist I have
spent a lot of time putting my hands
on people and uncovering the emotional
and mental pain as well as the
physical. And certainly I have seen
over and over the connection between
all the aspects of our being.
I have come to learn that WELL-BEING
is in fact a moment to moment balance
between the four bodies: physical,
mental, emotional and spiritual. That
often for us to be well, all of the
four bodies need to be addressed and
attended.
The Eastern schools of thought and
natural medicine found as such in
acupuncture or Ayurveda, (Chinese and
Indian forms of healing) recognize in
fact that each organ has a physical
job as well as an emotional, mental
and spiritual role or function. And
that these functions are dependent on
the flow of energy or life-force
available to the organ or tissue as
well as to the interdependence between
the tissues and organs. The body is
seen as a whole symphony, with each
part contributing to the overall
harmony.
For example, in Chinese
medicine it is understood that the
liver holds all the many physical
functions that it does in Western
allopathic medicine, like detoxifying
the blood, but that it is also
responsible for the emotion of anger
and the mental work of planning and
thinking ahead and holds the spiritual
seat of the soul. It is commonly
understood then that the physical
health of a tissue or organ naturally
affects the emotional, mental,
spiritual aspects of the being; and
the reverse is true. The emotional,
mental and spiritual aspects of a
person can affect the physical body.
Whether enhancing or limiting one
another, the four bodies interact with
each other. It is my recommendation
that you use this knowledge to enhance
your body and your life!
You may ask How? And I am glad you
did.
I have created a body-mind
integrated series of sessions designed
to address and enhance the four body
system.
This series of hour long
sessions combines Eastern wisdom, Samvahan, Yoga, meditation,
life-coaching, thought-field therapy,
breathing exercises/education, natural
health tips/remedies, play and
laughter and much more. It is a
comprehensive approach that teaches
you how to use your thoughts, posture,
facial expressions, Actions and more
to heal yourself while creating joy in
the process, as well as includes the
energy releasing healing power of
Samvahan. Although it is NOT physical
therapy, I can not help but bring to
the table my accumulated knowledge
acquired from my 12 years of practice
as a physical therapist trained in
traditional allopathic style. In
addition I bring to the table my
certification as a transpersonal
counselor, body-talk training,
visionary cranio-sacral training,
visceral manipulation training,
Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine study,
Samvahan Certification, Egoscue
practice and my own personal Yogic
lifestyle and practices. I have walked
my own talk and have come out the
other end of chronic pain and can tell
you there is a light at the other end!
The light of your own self awaits you,
I promise.
I know you can feel better, have much
greater function, have more energy,
think clearer, do more, sleep better,
laugh more, breathe easier, be
stronger, have renewed motivation,
have a deepened sense of hope and
peace, create joy,
be pain free and live a fulfilled
life!
Call me and we can discuss in detail
your needs and what is involved.
Please read the following testimonials
as well to see how these sessions have
helped others like you.
(Note the
body-mind integrated series is not
covered by insurance as it is not
physical therapy). I look forward to
seeing you soon! Kimberly. (518)
