Samvahan: Vibrational Medicine

“Matter is energy cloaked in a different form.” Einstein

The origins of Samvahan dates back 5,000 years and are found within the philosophy of Indian Vedic scriptures. (Deepak Chopra currently uses this Vedic philosophy as part of his quantum healing theory). Samvahan has been translated as ‘even dead tissue can be reawakened.’ Dr. Ram K Bhosle who is considered by many to be a miracle healer revitalized this ancient and powerful technique early this century. Dr. Bhosle, whose patients included Mahatma Ghandi, Nehru, Winston Churchill, Rockefeller and thousands more, used vibrational massage to cure illnesses of all kinds for 60 years.

Dr. Bhosle combined his extensive medical and musical expertise with mathematics, physics, astrology and guidance from spiritual masters in the Himalayas, Tibet and Nepal to formulate the healing power of Samvahan. Samvahan vibrational massage is the application of natural vibrations by the practitioner to harmonize the internal rhythms and vibrations of the client.

Why vibrations and healing?
Vibration is all there is. The ancient sages and science today agree that everything in the universe is vibrating. The words you see before you, your cells, organs, tissues, even your thoughts vibrate at a specific frequency. The Indian sages proclaimed, “The whole universe is nothing but sound”, and sound as you know is vibration. In the 1920’s a physics principle was proven known as ‘wave particle duality’ which states that every physical particle is ultimately a form of energy vibration called a wave function. More recently Dr. William Tiller of Stanford University wrote, “Each atom and molecule, cell and gland in our body has a characteristic frequency at which it will absorb and emit radiation.” This is saying each part of your body has a unique frequency at which it will receive or send vibrations!

“Subatomic particles, and all matter made there from, including our cells, tissues and bodies, are in fact patterns of activity rather than things” Frijtof Capra, Physicist.

Illness is a vibration that is off. It is often associated with a lack of movement or an imbalance in the vibrations of the body. Samvahan massage induces a pure balanced vibration into a body part, or the body as a whole, causing the body to begin to oscillate at the more harmonic vibration. This is accomplished via a physics principle known as entrainment. Entrainment is the phenomenon of one system’s oscillations (the recipient) following another system’s more harmonic frequency (the driver) because of coupling between the two. Simply stated, vibrations will migrate naturally towards harmony and Samvahan massage is the moving force for this balance to occur.

Similar to the philosophy of acupuncture Samvahan works with the subtle energies that compose the body. Deepak Chopra refers to these subtle energies as the quantum mechanical body, while others may refer to it as the the ethereal body, holographic interface or qui body. It is postulated that the quantum mechanical body (subtle energy body) determines the physical body and therefore it is here we find the origin and cure of disease.

In Indian medicine, known as Ayurveda, these subtle energies are elements known as: ether (space), air, fire, water and earth. These elements combine in different ratios to comprise each system in the body. Samvahan massage will vary vibrations in frequency to address, move and entrain these elements into harmony/balance. For example, the colon is most influenced by the air element and therefore vibration and intention to the colon will be offered as expansive, soft, warm and pervasive movement. An intention of heating may be included here if there is a Vata imbalance. (Vata is one of the three main doshas or body types in Ayurvedic medicine. Samvahan works to balance the doshas to restore health within the Ayurvedic system). In contrast to air and the colon, a slow heavy movement and vibration may be induced at the bones, muscles and ligaments to balance the earth energies/elements which are most influenced at these places. Generally speaking the practitioner will cover all essential areas through out the body with the vibrational massage to induce movement and health. However, specific conditions may also be addressed and emphasized within sessions.

“The body is nothing but rhythm. The universe is nothing but rhythm. The job of a healer is to harmonize your rhythms with the rhythms of the universe.” Dr. Bhosle.

The rhythms and harmonics of the human body are the same rhythms and harmonics found in the cosmos, nature and music. Since sound is vibration, music plays an important part of a Samvahan treatment. Inducing and amplifying the most harmonic vibrations of music can bring a body quickly towards health. In Samvahan vibrational massage, music is both an accompaniment and a guide. The massage and music becomes a series of intermingled vibrations that penetrate the body. An example of this would be when Samvahan is done to classical Indian music in the key of C# which is the same frequency as the Earth’s yearly rotation around the sun and the frequency of the heart (Anahata) chakra. Music tuned to C# has a grounding, calming and meditative effect.

The vibration generally produced by the practitioner’s hands comes from the Muladhara or root chakra (energy center). The practitioner accesses this vibration at the floor of her pelvis and directs it up the central canal or sushumna and out the hands. This frequency of the first chakra is also the frequency of the earth’s daily rotation and the audible note of G. This vibration animates the body and contains the potential and power of health. It gives the energy for the body to heal itself.

Aside from the possibility of a dramatic change in a physical state, Samvahan and its subtle shifts creates feelings of relaxation, peace and clarity. Samvahan assists one in feeling more balanced and healthy on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Samvahan healing is done mostly on the spine, which is most expressive of body imbalances as related to the Autonomic nervous system. Performed mostly through the practitioner’s hands, Samvahan sessions may also include tuning forks set at different frequencies, Tibetan singing bowls and Toning.

In the words of my Samvahan teacher, “Balance is a membrane away. Being well is every one’s natural state; it is what every cell wants and everyone’s body wants. Experiencing Samvahan lets your body hear the ‘tune’ of its own wellness.”
